HOW TO PLAY

Two Truths & a Lie

Spot the invented statement when each player takes a turn as storyteller.

SETUP

Get ready

Three to six players play individually. The storyteller writes three distinct statements and privately marks exactly one lie.

HOW TO PLAY

Take your turn

  1. Use the round prompt for inspiration, write three statements, and mark the lie.
  2. Everyone except the storyteller privately chooses the statement they think is false.
  3. The lie and every guess are revealed together.
WINNING

Finish on top

A correct detective scores 1,000 points. The storyteller scores 500 for every detective fooled.

QUICK TIPS

Play smarter

  • Keep all three statements similar in length and detail.
  • A modest truth often sounds less believable than a dramatic lie.
